Pain in the lower limbs can be caused by a discrepancy in the body’s movement

Footscan Gait Analysis

Latest Dynamic Footscan Technology

Footscan dynamic gait analysis takes precise plantar pressure measurements, which allows us to determine the direction, force and peak pressures that can cause repetitive pain and injury when combined with muscle and joint dysfunction or poor tissue viability.

Footscan gait analysis enhances our practitioner’s diagnosis of complex musculoskeletal complaints resulting in:

Heel Pain

Arch Pain

Forefoot Pain

Knee Pain

Hip Pain

Back Pain

We’ll book an initial consultation and assessment to identify the best cause of treatment to ease your symptoms.

Check our availability and book an appointment with our Orthotist.  At your appointment we will discuss the issues you are having, carry out a full assessment, fully explain our findings, and then recommend a treatment plan.

We take our feet and the stresses we put them through daily for granted, until we start to get problems. Feet need care and attention if they are to work efficiently over our lifetime.

We are in the world of prevention, being able to highlight a problem at an early age or early in a sporting career before it can develop into a full-blown injury or unnecessary wear and tear so we can reduce the likelihood of precious time off or even surgery in later life.

During your analysis, you will walk or run over the pressure plate, which contains thousands of sensors that measure the forces, pressure, and load applied by each part of the foot as it comes into contact with the ground.  This information is then analysed to assess how forces are distributed across different regions of the foot, such as the heel, midfoot, and forefoot. It can also provide detailed insights into gait abnormalities, such as overpronation (excessive inward rolling of the foot) or supination (excessive outward rolling).

Footscan pressure plate gait analysis can be beneficial for athletes, individuals with foot or lower limb injuries, or those seeking to improve their walking or running mechanics. The results can help in the selection of appropriate footwear, orthotics, or gait modifications to optimise performance, reduce the risk of injuries, and alleviate symptoms.

Following your Footscan gait analysis the data captured will be discussed with you during your appointment and tailored treatment recommendations will be provided.

Some typical problems we deal with on a regular basis are:-

Achilles Tendonitis

Plantar Fasciitis

Metatarsalgia

Morton’s Neuroma

Shin Splints

Heel Pain

Knee or Hip Pain
